Gearin Hotel

The hotel is located directly behind Katoomba Railway Station, where trains run from Sydney Central Station, with a journey time of approximately 90 minutes. Sydney Airport is around 110 km away. Established in 1881, with additions in 1919 and 1927, the hotel is a beautiful example of the Art Deco period. While cool in summer, the hotel is wonderfully warmed by two cosy open fireplaces in winter. The hotel is air-conditioned and includes a lobby, bar and restaurant. The hotel offers travellers comfortable and affordable accommodation in true Aussie pub style. As the hotel was built at the turn of the century, many of the rooms use clean and spacious shared bathroom facilities. There are also several en suite rooms. The rooms have beautiful high ceilings, making them light and airy, and are air-conditioned for guests' comfort. The hotel serves ice cold Australian and imported draught beers along with a large range of wines, spirits and bottled beers. Espresso coffee and other non-alcoholic refreshments are also available.
