The hotel is located at Shilpgram, Jaisalmer, approximately 4 km from Jaisalmer Fort, as well as from the bus stand and main market. The hotel is located about 6 km from the airport and 2 km from the railway station. The landmark hotel is built on a sprawling plot of over 5,100 square metres. It affords a grand view of Jaisalmer Fort. With its 4 dome-shaped structures on square bases, the establishment is visible from many kilometres away. As the name suggests, the hotel is designed like a castle in the sandy terrain of Jaisalmer. In keeping with the traditions of Jaisalmer, the exteriors were constructed with honey-coloured Jaisalmer stones (e.g. Shipra, Moolsagar with grains) drawn from the most expensive mines. The defining feature of the hotel's exterior is large stones cut in rock-face style.
