Asylum Cairns Backpackers Hostel

We are a Hostel set in a homely environment. Suitable for those looking for a quiet get-away and a slightly more mature social interaction (age range of guests is between 25+ & 60+years). All rooms are private while amenities are shared (Gender Separate available). Across the road from Munro Martin Parklands and close to Cairns CBD : 10-minute walk to Coles & Woolies and 5-minute walk to Dominos Pizza, with a 24-hour servo just around the corner for middle-of-the-night snacks. 5 minutes stroll up the street, and you’re right on the famous Cairns Esplanade. We also offer little creature-comforts from home, like Free tea & coffee and Wi-fi in the TV lounge & large comfortable sofas in the outdoor entertainment area. In addition, we have a salt-water pool for soaking in, to keep cool from the Tropical Heat. The entire property is surrounded by lush tropical gardens. To top it off, a weekly get–together held in the outdoor entertainment area– usually a Sausage Sizzle or Pizza Night for only A$3. We are a 12-minute taxi-ride from Cairns Airport. It’ll cost $25, while Uber charges anything from $18 to $28 depending on the time and availability of drivers. On-site, live-in, Managers ensure your safety & comfort as best they can. NOTE: To comply with Council by-laws, all guests MUST have photo ID to check-in. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), this property adheres to strict physical distancing measures. It is not possible to stay at this property for Coronavirus (COVID-19) quarantine purposes. A damage deposit of AUD 50 is required on arrival. This will be collected as a cash payment. You should be reimbursed on check-out. Your deposit will be refunded in full in cash, subject to an inspection of the property. Please note that towels are not included in the price and you can rent them on site. Pleas note that a linen fee applies to one-night stays. Please note that Self-catering kitchen is available between 6:00am and 11:00pm.
