British physician, Dr. Chris Lucas established Cardamom House in 1996. Here, you can retreat into nature, away from the bustle and noise of Indian towns. Spend your days relaxing; swimming in the carefully landscaped pool, reading; being creative with your camera, paints or pens; watching birds; or exploring the valley or further afield. This is my home where I am resident a lot of the year. Our staff are our greatest asset and they are part of my FAMILY! They are here to welcome you and ensure that your stay is enjoyable. They all hail from local villages and have been trained ‘in house’ and have worked together as a team for up to 21 years. Several of them have visited the U.K and speak some English. In addition to being excellent at their work, they also have considerable knowledge of topics that guests enjoy - particularly about local flora, fauna and birds etc. Located in Sembatti in the Tamil Nadu Region, 36 km from Kodaikanal, Cardamom House features a year-round outdoor pool and barbecue. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Some units include views of the mountains or lake. Extras include free toiletries and a hair dryer. The property has a common dining area. Bike hire and car hire are available at this guest house and the area is popular for cycling. Madurai Airport is 60 km from the property.
