Originally built in 1750, Laurel House has been added to over the years, and is now a large and comfortable home, has been run as a luxury B & B since 2007, and has won many awards including a Visit Britain 5 Star Gold Award in 2011. 2016 - Top Ten UK B & B voted by Towergate Insurance, and the only one in Cumbria. 2017 - Luxury B & B of the Year (N.West) - Industry Insight Monthly. Jeff and Alex, the owners, offer you a quiet and comfortable stay in warm and luxurious bedrooms. Built in 1750, the adult-only Laurel House is a charming, traditional Cumbrian farmhouse located mid-way between Penrith and Appleby, and just 3 miles from Center Parcs, in the Eden Valley village of Culgaith. Each spacious, en suite room has a king-size or super king-size bed, luxury towels, and quality furniture along with a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Free super fast fibre Wi-Fi is available in the resident’s lounge and in some rooms. Limited off-road parking is available. With a Visit Britain Breakfast Award, the excellent home-cooked breakfasts feature locally sourced produce, homemade bread and preserves, and a vegetarian option is also available. Please inform Laurel House in advance of your expected arrival time. This property will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties. Doors are locked at 23.30, keys are not issued and therefore there is no entry to Laurel House after that time. Laurel House does not accept bookings for the early Dalemain Ballon Flights, exhibitors at Lowther Show, Kendal Calling, Late Night Concerts and Weddings that require entry after 23.30. Check-in after 20.00 are strictly not accepted.
