Set within the mature, leafy Victorian suburbs to the south of Edinburgh city centre, this splendid hotel provides the perfect getaway from the bustle of the city whilst still being within walking distance of the old town. Superb public transport links also service the hotel with two main bus services into the downtown stopping directly in front of the hotel, with Waverley Train Station 2 km away and Edinburgh Airport only 8. This popular residential area of the city has housed some of its most famous inhabitants, past and present including Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and John Napier, the inventor of the decimal point. Built in the 1860's, the hotel offers beautiful bedrooms situated across all three floors of the property and the upstairs accommodation is accessed via the original ornate staircase. Upon arrival to the hotel visitors will be greeted at reception by the friendly staff that will do their utmost to ensure guests' stay is relaxed and enjoyable. The charming bistro is flooded with natural light and with views across the private garden and offers al fresco dining serving a full menu throughout the day with restaurant dining in the evening and enjoy a wide selection of food and food at the traditional Scottish bar. With the private car park and ease of access to the Edinburgh bypass any travelling is simple and relaxed.
