Schaeffer

The Schaeffer hotel is located in Serrières on the banks of the Rhône in the wonderful département of Ardèche. 50 minutes from Lyon and 45 minutes from Valence, come and enjoy a pleasant stay as a family or among friends. A family story from the start: "Time passes, people change, the passion stays the same": In 1925, Ernest and Mathilde Schaeffer took over the Ravon hotel in Serrières (in the guides from 1900), Yvette and Henri Schaeffer took over from them in 1955, their daughter, Joëlle Schaeffer and her husband, Bernard Mathé took the helm in 1981 and, for over 80 years, three successive generations have made this place one of the best establishments in the region. The 4th generation would take the helm in the kitchen until April 2018 when the establishment closed its doors for Mr and Mrs Mathé's well-earned retirement. In the summer of 2018, Frédéric Guironnet, a restaurateur in Felines (a small village which overlooks Serrières) took over the prestigious establishment, therefore managing the hotel with the same services and his "Saint Georges" restaurant which is located in the Schaeffer hotel.
