Skardu The Little Tibet

Tour Overview

Skardu, often called Little Tibet, lies at the crossroads of the Himalayas and Karakoram ranges and is home to the Balti people – an ethnic group with Tibetan origins known for their hospitality, distinct language, and centuries-old traditions. The region has deep historical significance, once serving as a key trade link between Kashmir, Ladakh, and Central Asia along ancient Silk Road routes. You’ll explore the 17th-century Shigar Fort, the striking Manthoka Waterfall, and the lush meadows and pine forests of Basho Valley – a lesser-known gem perfect for those seeking peace and natural beauty. Basho offers crystal-clear streams, glacier-fed rivers, and panoramic mountain views.
